Since the early 1980s, Vitra has been the exclusive and authorized manufacturer of designs by Charles and Ray Eames for the European and Middle Eastern markets.


Charles and Ray Eames began working with the Fehlbaums, who now run Vitra, in the late 1950s.  For the first twenty years of that relationship it was in the Fehlbaum's capacity as the directors of Herman Miller International that they worked with Charles and Ray Eames.
