The Dash Ninety Nine

1966
Herman Miller

In 1966, The Eames Office and Herman Miller introduced a new series of chairs, upholstered arm chairs with naugahyde back coverings, and hopsak seats, all fabrics designed by Alexander Girard.

This is the brochure that announces this new line of designs.

It is particularly interesting because of the documentation of Girard naugahyde and hopsak options, and for information about the durability of the materials used.

Starting in the mid-1950s, at the request off Charles and Ray Eames, Herman Miller developed a Technical Center to ensure quality control, and high performance, long service products through rigorous testing. Some of those tests are documented in this brochure.
