Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie and an Eames LTR

July 1, 2005 by: Daniel Ostroff

Brad Pitt collaborated with photographer Steven Klein on this multi-page photographic essay on “vintage suburbia” for “W” magazine in July 2005. It was during the production of MR. AND MRS. SMITH and Angelina Jolie joined Brad in this venture. Brad Pitt selected all of the furniture for this photo shoot and Eames Spotting is particularly pleased that he decided to include an Eames LTR. It’s on the far left, with a lamp on top.

On her: Giambattista Valli ostrich feather and silk velvet and tulle dress. Christian Louboutin shoes. J. Medel’s mink coat. Harry Winston earrings. On him: Alexander McQueen wool suit; Dior Homme cotton shirt. Dior Homme shoes. DSquared tie.

The Eames Office introduced the LTR First added to the Herman Miller catalogue in 1948 and it is still in production. In the earliest sales literature this table was also called the “strut” table.

Introduced in 1950 and in continuous production ever since. It measures only 10″ high. Now available with white, black or ash tops and white, black or zinc rod bases.

Eames Spotting wishes this couple and their children health and happiness always. If you click on the cover image below you can go to W’s website and see a slide show of the entire photo shoot.
