The two-piece secretarial chairs made and sold by Herman Miller from 1971 to 1981. We don't have the exact production number at this time, but have observed that very few of these chairs appear on the market, which suggests that not many were produced.
All of the other Eames plastic chairs which were equipped with universal or contract cast aluminum bases utilize a different spider, made of cast aluminum.

Underside of Eames Secretarial Chair

The stamped steel “spider” on the underside of these chairs is unique to this design, and is unlike the “spider” used on other Eames plastic and wire chairs.

Close up of Eames Secretarial Chair
This is the first Eames plastic chair without shock mounts. The function fulfilled on other
Eames chairs by shockmounts is addressed on this chair with raised areas of molded plastic.
This feature anticipates the development of a similar feature on the Eames plastic chairs
which were re-introduced in 2006 and are available currently from Herman Miller and Vitra.
