Seafoam green fiberglass, bright plated legs, black rubber and metal "self-leveling" floor glides.
These are the second iteration of floor glides for this design, often referred to as the "Eiffel Tower" chair.
A couple important notes about these early sideshells, attributes which characterize this example: they are free from any embossed marking, such as the Herman Miller name and logo which was embossed, convex, on later shells. Next, there is no place on these early shells to accomodate the wider shock mounts necessitated by the later DSS base. A 1954 Herman Miller "Chairs" poster described this as
"Plastic side chair for dining, desk work. Lightweight, easy to clean. Wire base has self-leveling glides."
