Upholstered wire chair
From the 1957 Herman Miller Illustrated Price List: "Removable multicolor one-piece pads are available at an extra charge on chairs in the upholstered wire group. In ordering Harlequin pads, add $10.00 for each pad to the price of wire chairs with one-piece pads."
This example is one of the four HARLEQUIN color combinations offered, it is Combination D, with the following colors: "Back No. 275 Black, Seat No. 276 Grey Dark, Left Wedge No. 278 Raw Umber Light, Right Wedge No 288 Navy, Binding No. 276 Grey Dark."
The Harlequin pads were developed by Ray Eames and Alexander Girard.
