Giving evidence in an Eames chair

April 27, 2012 by: Daniel Ostroff

When one gives evidence to the U.K.’s  House of Commons Culture, Media and Sport Committee one sits in an Eames chair, made by Vitra.

According to this Committee’s website the Culture, Media and Sport Committee monitors the policy, administration and expenditure of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport and its associated bodies, including the BBC, on behalf of the House of Commons and the electorate.

Recently both Rupert Murdoch and Rebekah Brooks have been there, with regard to the so-called phone-hacking scandal.

News Corp Chairman Rupert Murdoch was sitting in an Eames chair when some one tried to hit him with a pie in his face.  All of those looking on are also sitting on Eames aluminum group management chairs, the ones with the high backs.

Click here for a list of dealers in Europe and the Middle East that supply authentic Vitra made Eames chairs.  The production is  licensed and carefully supervised by the Eames Office.
